Respect, Tolerance, Empathy is not something you teach young children it is something that is modeled. These qualities evolve and grow as children become aware that other children exist.....Young Chldren select friends based on two indicators.
(1) if you are next to me you are my friend
(2) if you give me what I want you are my friend.
Asking children to say they are "sorry"; asking children to include children they don't wish to play with; asking children to treat all children as friends, do not get respect, tolerance and empathy. Forcing children to include children in their play is not inclusion. Lets make sure that children are developmentally capable of these highly desired goals before they are introduced.
